WHOTT stages a main event once a
year in mid August. The venue chosen will vary
to cater for the anticipated audience of
enthusiasts and members of the public who have a
serious or passing interest in the history of
public and commercial road transport.
Past events have been held at
Exeter’s Westpoint show ground and at Dorchester
in conjunction with the Hardy Society. Working
with other organisations has been of mutual
benefit and this arrangement is one we like to
promote. We would therefore welcome
opportunities to link up with other bodies
across the westcountry where transport history
is complementary. In 2024, for example, this
has been with the Helicopter Museum at Weston
super Mare.
In previous years we have
provided opportunities for members to have a go
driving a bus on private ground and have also
given talks to various societies and clubs such
as Women’s Institutes, Round Table, Lions and
local history groups,
Whether or not you are a member,
WHOTT offers activities in both vehicle
restoration and archiving. Two completely
different aspects requiring acquired skills and
applications. Why not come along and join our
teams of enthusiasts who love working on
vehicles or studying and recording items in our
large archive? In the latter case those with
computer skills may find this particularly
useful when committing our collections to an
electronic database. See our contact page for
details.
