ROYAL BLUE/ASSOCIATED MOTORWAYS RUN

The West Country Historic Omnibus & Transport Trust (WHOTT) will be separately organising a Royal Blue / Associated Motorways preserved coach run to coincide with this event.  The run will consist of feeder services on 15 / 16 June to Cheltenham. The main run will commence on 16 June and follow the route shown below:

Cheltenham - Cirencester - Kemble - Chippenham - Bath - Bradford-on-Avon - Trowbridge - Westbury - Warminster - Shaftesbury - Blandford Forum - Dorchester - Weymouth

All owners of former Royal Blue and other Associated Motorways companies vehicles are invited to participate together with any other vehicles which might have operated 'on-hire'.  Fully detailed route instructions and timings will be provided to entrants.  In the first instance vehicle owners should register interest with WHOTT Chairman, Colin Billington, by email to colinbillington@busmuseum.org.uk or by letter to Ledger Farm, Forest Green Road, Fifield, Maidenhead, Berks, SL6 2NR.  Further information and entry forms will shortly be available on the WHOTT web site.

This event will also highlight the return to operation of Royal Blue LS 1299 (OTT98) following a complete engine rebuild.  1299 is now owned by WHOTT having generously been donated to the Trust by the Dorset Transport Circle who owned and preserved 1299 from 1972 to 2006.  The engine rebuild has been funded by Dorset Transport Circle members and 1299's ongoing preservation is being sponsored by WHOTT Friend, John Grigg."
